SUPERVISION TRAINING

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
There are new laws that effect both supervisees and supervisors beginning January 1, 2019 by the passage of AB 93. This workshop will provide an overview of the laws and ethics that we deal with on a regular basis as well as explain the new laws and regulations starting in 2019. We will also have scenarios and open discussions dealing with issues you experience in supervision.
UPON COMPLETION OF WORKSHOP:

Identify 3 or more changes to the California statutes that pertain to supervising associate marriage and family therapists, associate clinical social workers, and associate professional clinical counselors.

Utilize tools as a supervisor to deal with difficult topics discussed in supervision.

Describe the different modalities for supervision beginning in January 2019.

List at least 3 options on how to communicate in group or individual supervision balancing what is best for the client and supporting supervisee’s clinical judgement.
PRESENTER:
Darlene Davis is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. She is the Executive Director for HOPE Counseling Center where she supervises trainees and associates. She has been teaching masters level students in counseling for over 13 years and loves guiding clinicians through legal and ethical issues they may experience. She is known as “the one to go to” in the Sacramento area for Law and Ethics information. She is currently serving on the CAMFT Ethics Committee and is a CAMFT Certified Supervisor. She is an Expert Consultant for the Board of Behavioral Sciences. She was honored to receive the Distinguished Clinical Member CAMFT award in 2018. $100.00 This course meets the qualifications for 6 continuing education hours/credits for LMFT’s, LCSW’s, LPCC’s licensed with the State of California. HOPE Counseling is an approved CEU Provider, CEPA# 131566 by California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
