Affordable Personal Therapy for Interns and Trainees
I am excited for you and your commitment to the profession of therapy. As part of your personal journey it is beneficial to seek out a therapist who remembers what it's like to see that first client or the client that seems to be dealing with the same issue you may be struggling with!
There will be clients that are more difficult to work with while you struggle to stay neutral, or those for whom you find yourself wanting to jump ahead and give them the answers to their needs. These challenges can deeply affect therapists, and it is comforting to know there is someone who understands.
How do you avoid the dreaded "burn out" you hear about? Therapy is a profession, but it draws on your strength of compassion, and without a healthy mind and body, how can you not become burnt out?
The test is looming in the future, "Do I really know what I'm doing?" "Will I be the 53% that passes?" Successfully navigating this rite of passage is just as much about managing your mental/emotional state of mind as it is intellectual preparation.
